Saturday 3 August
Elin Manahan Thomas will perform at the Eisteddfod for the first time this year
The Eisteddfod Choir will perform one of the greatest musical works ever composed in the concert on Saturday evening, Handel’s Messiah.
We have four great soloists joining us this year. We are delighted to welcome Elin Manahan Thomas to the Eisteddfod for her first ever performance.
We are also pleased to welcome Gwyn Hughes Jones and Leah-Marian Jones back to the festival for the first time for a few years.
The fourth soloist is the young baritone, Gary Griffiths, who is also representing Wales in the Singer of the World competition this year, and with Nicholas Kraemer conducting the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, this concert is sure to be an evening to remember.
There are over 150 members in the Denbighshire and District Eisteddfod Choir this year, and many have travelled across north Wales for the weekly rehearsals, with Beryl Lloyd Roberts and Ann Davies at the helm.
