Seasons greetings! As we near the end of 2009, we will, undoubtedly, remember the successful Eisteddfod in Bala this year.

We very much hope to repeat this success in Blaenau Gwent and the Heads of the Valleys next year. The Proclamation Festival held in June was a great success, with over 1,500 local people parading through the town of Ebbw Vale, and the excitement, response and the buzz have been great talking points in this part of the country, with excellent public support for the event.

But we need help from people across the whole of Wales. As Christmas approaches, we are asking you, supporters of the National Eisteddfod, to show your support by adding Blaenau Gwent to your gift list this year. A gift aid form is available to download from this page.

Your donation would be a great boost to our work and to the work of the local committees, and would be very much appreciated by people throughout Blaenau Gwent and the Heads of the Valleys. Every donation – large or small – will be welcomed and will help us to make sure that the visit of the National Eisteddfod will be a great boost for an area which is re-embracing its culture and language.
