Volunteering with us

Organising the Eisteddfod can take up to two years locally, and we need the help and support of hundreds of volunteers to make this happen.

We would be unable to organise the Eisteddfod without the support of our volunteers.  Their contribution is vitally important to the success of the project and the festival.

If you’re looking for opportunities to volunteer in Welsh, why not join the Eisteddfod team?  There’s a warm welcome for people of all ages.  But don’t worry if you can’t speak Welsh or don’t feel confident – there are plenty of opportunities available – and we can pair you with a Welsh speaker.

Opportunities are available in the community during the project.  We’re always looking for enthusiastic individuals to be part of the event organising and fundraising team.  Working in your community, you will help us to reach the Local Fund target – and this money is used to organise activities on the Maes during festival week.

We’re also looking for people to help us to choose competitions for the Eisteddfod and to help and advise us as we create the programme for the week.  Every Eisteddfod is different, and it’s important to give the week a local flavour, so there’s a warm welcome for anyone who wants to share ideas.

There are also opportunities available during the week itself, either welcoming visitors to the Maes or helping with customer care, offering advice and help to new and experienced visitors.  We also run a Here to Help scheme, a team of ambassadors on the Maes to help with questions and queries.

Interested?  Please get in touch!  Festival week opportunities available online from 1 February onwards.  Contact the office for details of all other opportunities.
